NUR HIDAYAH JAAFAR
Information Management Assistant | hidayah[at]gtwhi[dot]com[dot]my
Nur Hidayah Jaafar was born at her grandparents’ house in Kedah but grew up on a Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) oil palm plantation in southern Pahang, which makes it difficult for her to explain if anyone asks where she comes from. She is currently Information Management Assistant with George Town World Heritage Incorporated, where she designs and strategises the accumulation, management, analysis and dissemination of information to target audiences. Hidayah oversees the document management system and flow of information within the organisation, to ensure the easy filing and quick retrieval of information. She also manages the Resource Centre which hosts a varied collection of books, journals, magazines, videos and audio recordings. When she is not on duty at the Resource Centre, she can be found elsewhere in a midst of files and paperwork, organising them in a systematic manner. Hidayah graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Information Science (Records Management) from Universiti Teknologi MARA in 2015, and worked as a data entry clerk and conveyancing clerk for two years. Hidayah loves to cook but not baking due to a low success rate. She revels in the architecture of George Town and the stories behind them, and hopes to delve into painting in the future.
