Living Heritage Recognition And Appreciation Programme 2019

George Town World Heritage Incorporated has introduced Living Heritage Recognition and Appreciation Programme 2019 to give recognition to long-standing establishments of skilled trades and crafts in the George Town UNESCO World Heritage Site.
A pilot incentive which is supported by the State Government of Penang, the programme will acknowledge and promote the invaluable contributions of our living heritage, especially local artisans, craftsmen and practitioners, to the historic city of George Town which was inscribed with Melaka as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 7 July 2008.
Malaysian artisans, craftsmen and practitioners established for at least 50 years and currently still practising within the George Town UNESCO World Heritage Site are encouraged to apply for the programme or be nominated by the public. Eligible applicants and nominees will receive a specially designed plaque and certificate of appreciation.
Application and nomination for the programme can be done for free online at or at the George Town World Heritage Incorporated office before 15 September 2019. For application and nomination details, please contact Ms Sim Jun Hui (junhuisim@gtwhi.com.my or 014-604 3125).
