Ren I Tang Heritage Inn Penginapan Warisan Ren I Tang 仁愛棧 Information in English Maklumat dalam Bahasa Malaysia 中文資訊 About the Business Ren I Tang Heritage Inn 仁愛棧 is located at No. 82A, Lebuh Penang. This three-storey shophouse belongs to Seh Tek Tong Cheah Kongsi and the premises were occupied by Yin Oi Tong Medical Hall 仁愛堂 from circa 1885 until 2009. The premises were taken over by Green Buildings Sdn. Bhd. in 2010. They carried out major restoration works at RM3 million, and were completed in 2013. The façade has been restored with louvre glass windows and the entire roof was restored to its original pitch. The corrugated roof was replaced with V-tiles while the upper wooden floors were restored and replaced with recycled old timber. The airwells, original staircase and courtyard were restored to allow natural light to enter and provide constant airflow throughout the building. The entire building has been replastered with lime and finished with limewash, creating a cooler hue as opposed to chemical paint. The restored Ren I Tang currently hosts the Bistro Tang cafe and the traditional Chinese medical museum display on the ground floor, while the Heritage Inn accommodation consists of 17 cozy rooms on the first and second floors. Bistro Tang serves Oriental and Western cuisine, with vegetarian food being available on the menu as well. The traditional Chinese medical museum display highlights the history of Yin Oi Tong Chinese Medical Hall, showcasing nostalgic items that were used in the olden days. Rumah kedai tiga tingkat ini dimiliki oleh Seh Tek Tong Cheah Kongsi dan pernah beroperasi sebagai Kedai Ubat Yin Oi Tong sekitar tahun 1885 hingga 2009. Premis ini diambil alih oleh Green Buildings Sdn. Bhd. pada 2010. Kerja-kerja pembaikan yang menelan belanja sebanyak RM3 juta telah dilaksanakan secara besar-besaran sehingga siap pada tahun 2013. Bahagian muka bangunan telah dibaik pulih dengan menggunakan tingkap kaca Louvre. Keseluruhan bumbung beralum turut dibaik pulih mengikut rekaan asal, iaitu menggantikan atap beralun dengan atap genting berbentuk V manakala lantai kayu tingkat atas dibaik pulih menggunakan kayu kitar semula. Telaga udara, tangga asal dan halaman bangunan dibaik pulih bagi membenarkan pencahayaan semula jadi, di samping meningkatkan aliran udara dalam bangunan. Keseluruhan dinding bangunan dilapisi dengan lepa kapur dan diperkemas dengan basuhan kapur yang berbeza dengan cat kimian untuk menghasilkan rona sejuk. Bangunan Ren I Tang yang telah siap dibaik pulih kini dijadikan Kafe Bistro Tang dan muzium perubatan Cina di aras bawah serta Penginapan Warisan yang terdiri daripada 17 bilik di tingkat satu dan dua. Bistro Tang menyajikan masakan Oriental dan Barat dengan pilihan makanan vegetarian yang turut boleh didapati.
