*Category I buildings, monuments, objects and sites are important as they reflect the authenticity of the cultural landscape, largely contributing to the Outstanding Universal Values of George Town. The use of these buildings and sites should remain as originally intended, or be of similar use or nature of activity.

**Category II buildings, objects and sites are of special interest, and warrant every effort to have them preserved.
