ABOUT ME
Xian Hwa joined George Town World Heritage Incorporated in 2025. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science (Geophysics) from Universiti Sains Malaysia. Growing up in Kelantan instilled her with a deep appreciation of culture and heritage and now, she is eager to explore and contribute to the vibrant, living heritage in Penang. As an assistant in the Built Environment and Management Department, she is committed to applying her geophysics knowledge to support heritage conservation efforts while continuously learning about preservation of built heritage to safeguarding of George Town UNESCO World Heritage Site.
I am a motivated Site Manager because of the strong sense of belonging I see in George Town. Seeing locals take pride in their home and visitors value what we have worked to preserve, this gives me the real meaning of my work. It encourages me to contribute more thoughtfully to protecting the George Town World Heritage Site.
