Kedai ini tidak mempunyai papan tanda dan mula beroperasi sejak 1960-an dengan menyediakan minuman dan tempat bersembang kepada penduduk setempat. Biarpun tiada menu, penghawa dingin, muzik, mesin pembancuh kopi dan hiasan yang menarik, pelanggan-pelanggan tetap masih kerap mengunjung ke kedai ini. Mereka membaca surat khabar dan bersembang santai sambil menghirup kopi hailam. Encik Ng Kwung Pheng yang pernah mengusahakan kantin mengambil alih kedai kopi ini pada tahun 2009. It is located in Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling (formerly Pitt Street), also known as the Street of Harmony. The restaurant has been providing customers with delicious freshly cooked cuisine since 1982. Mr Soong Thian Fook, the owner and the chef of the eatery learnt culinary skills at his young age with an apprenticeship. He still insists on using the most authentic recipes to prepare food for customers. In addition to Cantonese fried noodles, Fok Kee Eatery has several signature dishes that customers must order, including signature fried fish, curry fish, Hakka fried meat, Guinness stout chicken, steamed fish head with garlic sauce and so on. Mr Soong cooks food with his homemade sauce, so that customers can still enjoy the old taste of Penang. For example, the Hakka fried meat is cooked with black fungus and pork, using the homemade sauce made from fermented bean curd. It is rich in taste and full of meaty aroma, ideal to be served with rice. Besides the good food, Fok Kee also serves varieties of fresh juice including orange juice, apple juice, passion fruit juice, ambula juice, cucumber juice, bitter gourd juice and tomato juice.
