Madam Ooi Siew Kim, the daughter of Mr Ooi Ah Goh, later took over the company, which was then taken over by her sister, Madam Ooi See Han, and the troupe's name was changed to Beng Geok Hong. They have been using the same glove puppets, musical instruments, and equipment for two generations. Beng Geok Hong's members are mostly in their 60s and 70s, and most of them have been in the industry since they were young, therefore they are able to play a variety of characters and musical instruments even without a script or musical score. The troupe is made up of four members who are skilled in manipulating glove puppets, singing, playing drums, Suona (Chinese Trumpet), and gongs. Beng Geok Hong is often invited to perform not only in Penang, but also in Kedah, Perak, and other states in the country. They are generally asked to perform glove puppets for prayer ceremonies that last for a few days during the lunar calendar's second, seventh, and ninth month.
