ABOUT ME
Ng Boon Nee is the Manager of Cultural Heritage Research and Development at George Town World Heritage Incorporated (GTWHI). Joining GTWHI in 2017, she holds a Master’s degree in Planning from Universiti Sains Malaysia and specialises in townscape planning, disaster risk reduction, and community engagement. Boon Nee leads local fire and flood resilience programmes, manages the Cultural Heritage Database System, and directs key initiatives including the Cultural Heritage Hub (CH2) and the annual George Town Heritage Celebrations. She also oversees GTWHI’s ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management System.
I am a grounded Site Manager because I believe heritage preservation only succeeds when local communities are actively involved. By managing community resilience projects, cultural data systems, and public programmes like the Heritage Celebrations, I bridge the gap between high-level management and ground-level community needs, ensuring our World Heritage Site remains vibrant and inclusive.
