GEORGE TOWN HERITAGE CELEBRATIONS 2023
The annual George Town Heritage Celebrations (GTHC) returns this year to commemorate the 15th anniversary of George Town’s inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Driven by the collective effort of the local communities, the Celebrations offers a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of George Town, enabling one to experience the harmonious coexistence of this living heritage city.
Since its inauguration, the Celebrations has been a major crowd drawer for locals and tourists, opening the hearts and nurturing the minds of our fellow festival-goers. This annual occasion has deepened the understanding and enhanced our appreciation towards the historic city of George Town, as well as its communities who have contributed to our vibrant multicultural social fabric.
The highlighted events for 2023’s edition of GTHC included the George Town Discovery Walk on 7 July 2023 (Morning), George Town Cultural Heritage Workshops on 7 July 2023 (Evening), and George Town Cultural Heritage Interactive Game on 9 July 2023.
